Publisher's Descriptions
This application was developed from a need to document what we'd written and designed in Microsoft Access.
It is used to analyse an MS Access database and produce a list of statistics and details on the contents. This can then be exported to a text, XML or MS Excel spreadsheet file, which can be used as an aid to debugging, future development and documentation.
ExploreAccess was written for MS Access 200x. It will examine any earlier version of MS Access once that database has been converted to MS Access 2000 format or later (up to Access 2003).
A free demo version is available, with some limitations. If you purchase the full version, we will email you the download URL and the password to decrypt/extract the files.
Some of the information provided by the freeware version application is listed below:
Table names
Field Names, types, and sizes
Query names and the number of parameters
The "Control" queries behind Forms and Reports
Index Names and their types
Relationship names (and what is related to what)
Macro Names
Module Names and how many Functions and Sub Routines there are
Form names
Report names
Database statistics - records
The shareware version also provides the following information and capabilities:
Provides the SQL Statement for each selected Query and/or View
Provides a Data Definition Statement for each selected Table, Index and/or Relationship
Displays the contents of selected modules
Lists the code for selected Macros - when converted to Modules
Lists the Controls on selected Forms, together with their Properties and (if available) their values
Lists the Controls on selected Reports, together with their Properties and (if available) their values.
Lists and allows the translation/exports of any Data Access Pages.
Export options include normal text format, XML and into an MS Excel workbook
More information (Compressed HTML Help File, ~370kb)
